The average cost per child per month living in the home is $200. Suggested sponsorship levels begin at $35 per child but our web site also allows you to choose a custom amount for sponsorship. We appreciate all donations!

The children living at Travay Bondye have been placed there for various reasons. While some of the children are true orphans, many kids have at least one living parent. Many of children were abandoned to the street or come from abusive homes. Some children have been placed in the home by Haitian social services. Extreme poverty is a reason that some children have come to the home in the past, but we try to encourage and help facilitate families staying together whenever possible. The home occasionally provides temporary shelter for homeless children while their parents seek work or housing. From time to time, children are reunited with their families. Haiti has a very limited foster care system.

While a sponsorship matches you with a child for purposes of getting to know a child, sponsorship funds are directed to the general operating budget in Haiti and used for all children.  For example, a child without a sponsor will still go to school.

Our goal is to have every child sponsored at 100 percent of the monthly cost to support them (roughly $200 per month). It is possible and probable that children may have more than one sponsor. This allows many people to participate in the program at different levels and allows complete coverage for all children. We are thankful for every sponsor!

Please send letters and pictures at any time!  However, we ask that you not send packages or gifts outside designated times.  We do not have consistent shipping opportunities.  We do offer opportunities to send a package two times per year.  Summer offers a back to school option with backpacks and school shoes and Christmas allows for a special gift.  We will notify sponsors when these collections are being organized.  They are optional.

All sponsorships will continue until requested to be terminated by sponsor.  Please notify us by mail or email.

If your card is declined it typically is due to an expired card or new card.  Please contact us with new information asap.  You will receive automatic notifications when this happens that contain our contact info or you can login to your account and make changes.  After several attempts without response, your account will automatically be terminated.
