Summer 2017

The school year is ending and the kids are excited for summer and starting to enjoy end of year parties.  They have all worked hard at school and we are proud of their efforts!  Many are behind their classmates and it takes extra work to keep up.  It is awesome to see them put in extra effort with the house tutors to do their best and keep their grades as high as possible.  Education is so important to their future success and we can’t thank you enough for making school possible. In other news, it has been a great few months as we have been really working on a positive rewards system.  Many of the kids have enjoyed special pizza parties, trips to the park and visits to the treasure box.  Some of our older boys who moved out of the house have been visiting as mentors and started leading small group devotions weekly.  We also had a visit by West Conroe Baptist Church where the kids were led in devotions, crafts and fun times!  Behavior has improved and so has the whole vibe in the house!  God is really showing his love to the kids! Another awesome development has come with some of our older boys who have transitioned out of the home returning as mentors.  They lead small group devotions, play, sing, pray and just spend time with the kids.  It is great to see these big boys giving back to the house they spent their teen years....

Matching Gift Challenge!

Dear Friends, We have some exciting news! We have two donor who have stepped up to help with school and general funding by matching any donation up to $20,000 that comes in during the month of August 2016. This is a great opportunity for us as the bulk of annual school funds are due in August. We have many sponsors for school but still have a shortfall of around $20,000 annually that has to be covered by reserves. This matching event could help us cover this balance and put us in great position going forward. We believe education is the key to the future of our kids and to the future of Haiti! We also have enhanced our sponsorship program and you can get matched with a child and choose a sponsorship amount easily on our web site. If you have considered sponsorship, now is the time! Sponsorships will count in the match! Make your gift online or physical donations can be sent to: 27702 Crown Valley Parkway, Suite D4, Box 201, Ladera Ranch, CA 92694 THANK...

Chegens & Dominican

In July 2014, we were blessed to meet Chegens and have him become part of our Zanfan Lakay family. He is a precious 6 year old boy born with a club foot on one leg and a congenital amputation on the other. Due to both legs being impacted, he was unable to walk and could only scoot on his knees. Just a little over a week ago, we were able to connect with Project Medishare who had a team on Canadian doctors in for the week who provided a complimentary surgery to repair the club foot and also prepare the other leg for a prosthesis. With work and time, we are hopeful sweet Chegens will be able to walk in only a few months. Praise God and please keep Chegens in your prayers. Dominican is an older boy who still lives on the street. We visit him from time to time and recently found out he suffered a serious abdominal injury which was quite debilitating and without repair would only get worse and worse. The same group of doctors met with Dominican and also provided a surgery to repair his injury. He is currently recovering for a time at Zanfan Lakay and we pray for healing and a successful future for...

2014 was an awesome year!

2014 brought many new firsts and opportunities for our ministry.  This fall, we sent 78 kids to school!  With minimal education opportunities, this is a huge opportunity for these children.  Their futures are bright!  We also transitioned six of our older boys out of Zanfan Lakay and are watching them live their adult lives and impact their nation.  They have an apartment and work various jobs while continuing their education in the evenings.  It is not an easy road but they are succeeding!  Every one of these six boys was living on the street with the no education and no family only four years ago.  How awesome is our God? This year also brought the opportunity to provide a VBS for over 1,100 kids, serve thousands of meals to hungry children and families, partner with Pastor Pierre’s church for a weekly gospel outreach followed by hot meals for many people on the street, provide micro loans for several women and also send some of these women to school!  We will wrap up the year with our annual Christmas outreach where we bring Christmas parties, the Christmas message and gifts to around 300 children in need.  These are just a few of the highlights of the year!  What an amazing blessing to see God at work in Haiti!...
